Inflating your Football
Everytime you inflate a football, the needle should be lubricated with liquid soap, glycerin, silicon oil or another lubricant.
This preserves it from abrasion and an eventual blasting of the valve (lets air out) and will improve the life of the football. Please moisten the needle is written on every football as inflating correctly with a suitable lubricant will prolong the life of the football (however; some people use spit...yuk, but that is not recommended).
It is not recommended to inflate the new football to it's full recommended pressure immediately. Sometimes if they are inflated at 100% of full pressure immediately the balls could assume irregular shape, due to a longer storage when they were non-inflated. It is preferable to inflate the football to 80 - 90% of the recommended pressure and to inflate to the recommended pressure the next day.
Manufacturers recommend that you reduce the air pressure in your match balls after a game to reduce the amount of stress on the ball seams or stitching. Be sure to inflate the ball back to proper pressure before the match.
Recommended Air Pressure: All our footballs have a recommended air pressure of 0.6 - 0.8 bar which is printed on each football.
Footballs lose air pressure over time, sometimes over a few days, so be sure to check the pressure frequently to make sure the ball is properly inflated.
Do not over or under pressurize a ball. It is recommended that you use a pressure gauge (using a suitbale lubricant) to measure the exact amount of pressure in a ball after inflating and before use.
Therefore, invest in a good ball pump, have a supply of inflation needles and lubricant and use a low pressure gauge to measure for correct inflation.
